Employee Assistance Plan

The Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) is provided by Spring Health in partnership with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield at no cost to eligible employees, including anyone enrolled in medical coverage through the Board of Pensions or in the Covenant Package. Through the EAP, employees have access to high-quality mental health care and support for all of life’s challenges, from personal issues, to health concerns, to work-related problems.

Eligibility

Employees can use EAP services if they:

  • are enrolled in the PPO, EPO, or HDHP medical option
  • have EAP access without medical coverage (for example, through the Covenant Package)

Employer benefits

Employers have access to management consultation and critical incident response services at no cost to them through the EAP for a variety of workplace issues, ranging from employee performance to natural disasters.

Member benefits

Spring Health provides personalized support to connect members with resources and treatment to meet their needs, including coaching, therapy, and psychiatric care, including medication management. And, on average, Spring Health can connect members with providers that meet their specific care needs within three days. That means they get the right care when they need it.

Digital self-assessment

Spring Health’s digital self-assessment screens for different mental health conditions and helps guide members to appropriate care. They’ll complete a self-assessment to get a personalized care plan matched to their needs — including names of Spring Health providers and treatment recommendations for on-demand mental wellness exercises, well-being coaching, as well as clinical therapy and/or medication management.

Clinical therapy sessions at no cost to members

Members and their covered family members ages 6 and older can receive up to six therapy sessions per year from a Spring Health provider at no cost to them. This includes both in-person and virtual visits.

All Spring Health providers are in-network for the Medical Plan, providing enrolled members with seamless care on their mental well-being journey should they require continued care. Regular plan copays, deductibles, and/or coinsurance apply after the sixth therapy session.

Mental health care navigation

Spring Health’s licensed care navigators are available to help members find a provider and provide additional support when they need it. They can also:

  • assist during a crisis
  • advocate for a member’s immediate needs
  • discuss long-term goals
  • review the digital mental health self-assessment
  • recommend care options
  • provide emotional support

Unlimited coaching

Members can access unlimited virtual well-being coaching sessions with certified coaches who can help them build better habits, navigate life transitions, improve communication skills, and set and achieve their goals.

Mental wellness exercises

Spring Health offers a digital library of on-demand mental wellness exercises called Moments, so members can develop long-term skills or get immediate relief anytime, anywhere.

Spring Health works with members to understand their personal needs and provides guidance and support in the following areas, to name a few:

  • legal and financial matters
  • adoption
