Supporting health and well-being: Medical Plan highlights for 2026

November 18, 2025

As 2026 approaches, the Board of Pensions is excited to share new features that support health and well-being for Medical Plan members and their covered family members. Here’s an overview of new and ongoing benefits in the PPO, EPO, or HDHP option.

Virtual physical therapy

Effective Jan. 1, 2026, at no additional cost, members will have access to virtual physical therapy through Hinge Health,* a program designed to help relieve back, joint, and muscle pain. This individualized approach includes app-based exercises under the guidance of a physical therapist, based the participant’s needs, goals, and ability.

Additional Spring Health resources

Spring Health, the service provider for the Mental Well-Being and Employee Assistance Plan, has two new resources available to help members and their families thrive. One centers on building a strong foundation for nutrition and weight management, while the other offers personalized coaching support tailored to teens’ unique goals and challenges:

  • Members eligible for Spring Health can explore the Weight and Wellness hub on the Spring Health platform. This resource provides access to videos and self-guided tools designed to help build a foundation for healthy eating and sustainable weight management. Members can also connect with a Spring Health coach for online nutrition coaching — at no cost to them.
  • Unlimited virtual coaching for teens is now available through Spring Health. Eligible teens can work with a certified coach to build resilience and pursue personal goals — whether those goals relate to school, body image and self-esteem, friendships, or family life. This confidential support is designed to help teens navigate challenges and strengthen emotional well-being.

A more personalized Call to Health experience

For the new program year starting Jan. 2, the Call to Health well-being program* will feature new ways for Medical Plan members to work toward wholeness. Refreshed activities will help them focus on wholeness in all four areas: spiritual, health, financial and vocational.

Additionally, the Call to Health website and app are moving to the new WebMD ONE platform to serve members better, including with a more personalized experience to support their wholeness journey. On the new platform, members will find:

  • a personal dashboard and health record
  • personal device and app connections
  • activities based on their health information and interests
  • health goals and trackers
  • team challenges
  • build-your-own quests
  • well-being community forums
  • on-demand fitness videos, mental health podcasts, recipes, articles, and more

Participants will need to register for the new program year, even if they’ve previously participated in Call to Health. When they register and complete Call to Health by Nov. 6, 2026, they will qualify for reduced medical deductible(s) in 2027.

More information about the refreshed Call to Health program will be available in the coming weeks.

Continuing resources for your healthcare journey

The Medical Plan offers a variety of features* to help promote wholeness and well-being, including the following:

  • Care navigation through Quantum Health helps guide members to quality healthcare in the most appropriate setting. Quantum Health’s Care Coordinators are the primary point of contact when members have questions about their medical benefits or need help with a healthcare issue.
  • A diabetes management program through Teladoc Health combines connected technology with expert coaching to help individuals manage diabetes.
  • Centers of Excellence, for certain complex, high-cost surgeries, are designated hospitals that meet rigorous quality and cost standards and can improve outcomes and help manage expenses.
