As a Benefits Plan member, you can engage with Board of Pensions educators from the comfort of your office, home, or favorite coffee shop — at no additional cost to you. Our live webinars cover topics in one of four areas of wholeness: spiritual, health, financial, or vocational well-being.

Webinars are presented live, typically last one hour, and require a computer, internet access, and computer speakers or a telephone. Webinar attendees enrolled in the Medical Plan are awarded 50 Call to Health points.

Eat Well to Feel Well: Food and Your Mental Health

There’s a direct relationship between what we eat and how we feel. In this seminar, we’ll explore how the gut and brain are connected and how to feed a healthy gut. Learn about important nutrients for mental health and discover strategies for putting a balanced, mood-boosting diet into practice.

About the speaker

Dr. Lorrie Miller is an award-winning licensed therapist, on-site EAP provider, and the COO of Emind Wellness & Training Institute (EWTI), in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has extensive experience working with large and small organizations across the country and overseas. 

Dr. Miller has been in practice since 2009 and specializes in helping individuals manage the pressures and expectations of high-stress work environments.  She understands that individual wellness is more than physical health, and therefore, she provides effective tools to integrate mental and emotional health strategies into the fabric of the work environment.  

Dr. Miller has a passion for helping others and is always excited to manifest her talents and skills in service to all persons.

Access webinar recordings

Members and employers who have a user ID and password for Benefits Connect, our benefits management website, can access Board of Pensions e-learning content through the portal.

  1. Log on to Benefits Connect and scroll down to the Recommended for Me section.
  2. Select the Board University tile and click Log in to Board University
  3. After clicking the link, you will automatically be directed to the e-learning site.
  4. Inside the e-learning platform, go to the Learning Library and select Webinar Recordings in the Topics filter.

If you are eligible for e-learning opportunities from the Board of Pensions and do not have access to Benefits Connect, you can request access by completing this form. Those eligible include spouses, members employed by an organization affiliated with the PC(USA) or Korean Presbyterian Church Abroad (KPCA), seminary students, and others.
