Starting April 1, care navigation brings added value to medical coverage through the Board of Pensions by helping those enrolled in the PPO, EPO, or HDHP option navigate today’s complicated healthcare system.
Need to find out if the Medical Plan covers a test or procedure? Looking for a network specialist near you? Misplaced your medical or prescription drug ID card? Recently diagnosed with a health condition and don’t know where to turn? Care navigation, offered in partnership with Quantum Health, can help with all these things — and more.
Effective April 1, if you’re enrolled in the PPO, EPO, or HDHP, care navigation is included (at no additional cost to you) as part of your medical coverage through the Board of Pensions. While your medical and prescription drug benefits remain the same, Quantum Health is now your primary point of contact when you have questions about your benefits or need help understanding how to use them.

As your dedicated team of nurses, benefits experts, and claims specialists, Quantum Health’s Care Coordinators can assist with anything to help make the healthcare experience easier, from answering questions about medical claims or bills to serving as your advocate within the healthcare system.
New medical and prescription drug ID cards with Quantum Health’s contact information were mailed to homes in March. Your new medical ID card also lists the tests and procedures that must be precertified through Quantum Health effective April 1. You can begin using your new ID cards immediately and be sure to destroy your old cards.
You may notice other changes to your medical ID card as well. The card now shows your annual deductible and out-of-pocket maximum amounts, in addition to any set-dollar copays you pay for doctor’s office visits. If you are enrolled in the PPO medical option, the out-of-pocket maximum amount shown on your new card reflects the medical out-of-pocket maximum for your salary range. The deductible amount shown also reflects your salary range.
If you don’t receive your new cards, contact Quantum Health and your Care Coordinator will help you get replacements.
No request is too big or small for your Care Coordinator.
