Strength in partnerships: PC(USA)-affiliated organizations drive Benefits Plan growth

January 21, 2026

New partnerships and more people covered by the Benefits Plan of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) were significant milestones over the last year. In 2025, the Board of Pensions welcomed nine new employers affiliated with the PC(USA) into the Benefits Plan:

  • Forefront Living, Dallas
  • Presbyterian Night Shelter, Fort Worth, Texas
  • The Presbyterian Home for Children, Talladega, Alabama
  • Davis Stuart, Lewisburg, West Virginia
  • More Light Presbyterians, Kansas City, Missouri
  • Presbyterian Camps and Conference Centers Inc., Big Bear Lake, California
  • Highlands Camp & Retreat Center, Allenspark, Colorado
  • James Island Presbyterian Foundation, Charleston, South Carolina
  • Brazos Presbyterian Homes, Houston
In nearly 10 years, participation through colleges and universities, retirement and senior housing communities, and other nonprofit affiliate employers associated with the PC(USA) has greatly contributed to growth in plan membership. To date, more than 7,000 members from 203 PC(USA)-affiliated employers participate in the Benefits Plan.

“Welcoming new employers into the Benefits Plan isn’t just about numbers — it’s about extending care to more people and strengthening our PC(USA) community,” said Andrew J. Browne, Executive Vice President, Engagement & Church Relations. “Each of these organizations has a commitment to care and shared values. As stewards of the Benefits Plan, we’re ensuring that thousands of employees have access to benefits that support their well-being.”

This shared commitment to care and well-being has fueled remarkable progress. Building on these values, the Board’s National Sales team has played a pivotal role in turning vision into reality by forging relationships with PC(USA)-affiliated organizations that prioritize trust and partnership over transactional business.

“We want these organizations to know we are a trusted partner, not a vendor,” said Janet S. Toole, Vice President, National Sales. “Because of our consultative approach, we equip employers to make informed decisions about benefits. The trust our partners place in us is what’s most important.”

“Our PC(USA)-affiliated partners truly believe that the Board of Pensions cares about them as an employer and wants them to be successful,” said Keith Edwards, Director, National Sales. “That speaks volumes about what we do.”
