Board of Pensions presidential search
The Board of Directors of The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has nominated Krysten Carter Holloway as the next President of the Board of Pensions, to be confirmed at the 227th General Assembly (2026).
The Reverend Dr. Frank Clark Spencer
announced his retirement as President of The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). The Board of Directors of the Board of Pensions is required to
form a search committee to identify a successor for the President of the Board of Pensions. The following information is shared to ensure transparency and understanding of the process.
Presidential search committee
The Chairperson of the Board of Directors of The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has appointed a search committee to identify the next President of the Board of Pensions. Under Board of Pensions bylaws, the presidential search committee consists of at least five members and includes one member designated by the Unification Commission. The committee includes the following:
- Andrew Junkin, Board of Directors, Chairperson and Search Committee Chair
- Reverend Dr. Ellen Clark Clémot, Board of Directors
- Catherine Cuellar, Board of Directors, Second Vice Chairperson
- Reverend Dr. David A. Davis, Unification Commission
- Fred Gamble, Board of Directors
- Jean Reynolds, Board of Directors
- Reverend Fernando Rodríguez, Board of Directors, First Vice Chairperson
The search committee has engaged Korn Ferry, a global consulting firm with expertise in executive searches, to help identify and evaluate qualified candidates.
Electing and confirming a successor
After consulting with the Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the PC(USA), the presidential search committee will present a candidate to the Board of Directors for election in spring 2026 and for confirmation at the 227th General Assembly in June 2026. The new President will assume the role upon confirmation by the General Assembly.
Role of the President
The President serves as the chief executive officer and is responsible for the overall management of the Board of Pensions. The President is supported by a nine-member executive team and over 200 highly skilled employees.
