A lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, she was shaped by her parents’ devotion to the Church and to the community, inspiring her own path of service. Her father, the Reverend Dr. Clyde L. Carter, served as the third pastor of Westminster, and later presided over the confirmation of his daughter as a Ruling Elder in the church she has long called home. Her mother, Eva O. Carter, is former Moderator of the Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Board of Pensions.
