There are distinct differences in average salaries for men and women across all pastoral positions and congregation sizes in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). This compensation gap needs to be understood, and prioritized, if it is to be closed. Through our collective efforts, we can make the Church a more just and equitable community in which to respond to God’s call.
Closing the Gender Compensation Gap, offered October 10, 2-3 p.m. ET, represents one small but important step in that direction. The webinar, led by the Reverend Lori Neff LaRue, Director of Wholeness Education for the Board of Pensions, will cover current compensation realities in the Church and explore how female ministers can more effectively negotiate their compensation packages.
The role Committees on Ministry (COMs), presbytery executives, and Pastor Nominating Committees (PNCs) can play in covenanting terms of call will also be discussed.
