The 2018 Mid Council Leaders Gathering will be held from 9 a.m. Friday, October 5, to 11 a.m. Sunday, October 7, at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in suburban Chicago.
The Reverend Dr. Gregory C. Ellison II, associate professor at Emory University's Candler School of Theology and founder of Fearless Dialogues, will serve as the keynote speaker.
This event, co-sponsored by the Office of the General Assembly and The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), is designed for presbytery and synod executives and stated clerks.
The Association of Stated Clerks and the Association of Mid Council Leaders will hold events at the same venue October 7-9.
The Mid Council Leaders Gathering is an opportunity for mid council leaders and staff of both sponsoring agencies to engage with one another in a collaborative environment. Attendees will
- learn about polity issues;
- discuss benefits issues related to polity and partnership;
- share common concerns;
- discuss the changing state of the Church; and
- discern common life together.
