To ensure that you receive medically necessary and appropriate care, you must pre-certify certain inpatient procedures and tests as soon as possible.

Call Highmark at 888-835-2959 at least seven to 10 days prior to admission for

• inpatient medical or surgical procedures;
• imaging procedures other than ultrasounds or X-rays, including CAT scans, MRI, MRA, and PET scans;
• inpatient hospitalization;
• partial-day programs;
• intensive outpatient therapy;
• residential treatment facility services;
• psychological testing.
