Well-Being Retreat offers active Benefits Plan members and retirees (and spouses) a unique opportunity to explore wholeness through the spiritual, health, financial, and vocational aspects of their lives. Participants are able to customize the retreat experience by selecting educational workshops and guided activities that best support their journey to well-being.
Hosted by Board University, in partnership with the Presbyterian Foundation and its subsidiary, New Covenant Trust Company, Well-Being Retreat 2017 drew 88 participants from 26 states to Zephyr Point Conference Center on Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
Here’s what a few of our participants have said about their Well-Being Retreat experience:
“Came away very refreshed, very encouraged, and very comfortable with the Board of Pensions' and the Foundation's support for pastors and leaders.”
“This event really has to be one of the best I have ever attended. It not only helped me with some of my own ‘stuff,’ it gave me some great ideas to bring back to the local church. I can’t stress enough the importance of the workshops for self-care and for church care, a good balance of both.”
“The planning and presenting committee did a great job. It had a welcoming and comfortable feel. Everyone was totally approachable. Thank you for an informative and well-run conference.”
We hope to see you at Well-Being Retreat 2018. Keep an eye on Board Connections (an electronic newsletter, published monthly by the Board of Pensions), and visit this page again in June for more information regarding program content, speakers, activities, and more!
Well-Being Retreat has been offered in different regions of the country in order to make the event accessible to all Benefits Plan members. Returning to the east coast in 2018, Well-Being Retreat will take place at Montreat Conference Center in North Carolina.
The program content for Well-Being Retreat focuses on the components of wholeness: spiritual, health, financial, and vocational. This is a wonderful opportunity to step away from daily responsibilities and enhance skills that can improve your life and sustain your service to the Church. At the same time, experience personal and professional renewal through guided activities and conversations with colleagues and clergy in a tranquil setting. Free time and space for silent retreat are now woven into the agenda, so that participants can more thoughtfully absorb various elements of the retreat for a more contemplative experience.
Program updates, registration details, and related information will be posted to this page and communicated through Board Connections as plans are finalized for Well-Being Retreat 2018.
While there is no conference fee to attend Well-Being Retreat, attendees are responsible for their travel, lodging, and meals. The cost of accommodations and meals for Well-Being Retreat 2018 will be made available here, and on the registration site.
