A year-long program, Call to Health encourages members and spouses enrolled in the Medical Plan to develop healthy habits in the four areas of wholeness: spiritual, health, financial, and vocational. When these key areas of our lives are in balance, we're better able to serve others. That's why Call to Health offers challenges in each of these key areas, encouraging wholeness in us all.

Call to Health consists of dozens of defined challenges, most of short duration, that members complete for points toward reduced medical deductibles the following year — and even gift cards.


To participate, you must be an employee or spouse with medical coverage through the Board of Pensions. Call to Health is not available to employees or spouses enrolled in Triple-S, GeoBlue, or the Medicare Supplement Plan.

Married employees who are both enrolled in the PPO may be considered a member couple. Member couples must each complete Level 1 to earn a reduced medical deductible for the next program year. If one of you does not complete Call to Health, only the member who does complete it will receive a reduced deductible. Additional enrollment requirements apply to be considered a member couple.

Program dates

The current program year runs December 4, 2018, through November 15, 2019. New challenges are introduced throughout the year, so check back often to keep your momentum going.

How it works

Access Call to Health on your mobile device

1. Open the iOS app store on your iPhone or Google Play on your Android device.

2. Search for Limeade and download the app.

3. Open the app and enter the program code: boardofpensions

4. Log in with your username (or email address) and password.

You can access the Call to Health website on your desktop browser, or on your mobile device with the Limeade app. First-time users must register.

Once you are registered, take the following steps to complete the program:

  • Take the Well-Being Assessment (300 points). Your Well-Being Assessment gives a summary of your strengths and recommends goals to work on for better health and well-being.
  • Get your preventive exam* and record it (400 points).
  • Join optional challenges and earn points (noted in the challenge description).
  • Be sure to start early and earn enough points to lower your deductibles and receive gift cards.
  • Continue to take on new challenges. Gradually increase your goals to get stronger and healthier.

*For those younger than 50, preventive exams are required only once every 24 months. If you are under 50 and had a physical last year, to receive credit and points for meeting this requirement, enter the date of the visit and the name of your physician where prompted, even if you entered the same information and received points for it last year.

Most Call to Health challenges are available at no cost to you. For example, through Ignite Your Life coaching, you have access to unlimited online and telephone health coaching at no cost to you.

Other challenges are activities that are fully covered by your medical coverage through the Board — you pay no deductible, copay, or copayment — such as getting your preventive exam. You'll also find challenges for learning about your benefits — no-cost activities that may save you money while you earn Call to Health points.

A few challenges may require you to pay limited out-of-pocket costs:

  • Nutritional counseling: When you see a network provider and your body mass index (BMI) is less than 30, regular plan provisions apply (PPO: $25 copay per visit; EPO: $40 copay per visit; HDHP: 100 percent of cost until you pay the deductible, then 20 percent copayment up to combined out-of-pocket maximum). If your BMI is 30 or more, your copay is $0. (Use an online BMI calculator or ask your healthcare provider to measure it.)
  • Preventive dental exam: Your cost depends on your dental benefits. If you have Aetna PPO dental coverage through the Board of Pensions, for example, a preventive dental exam is covered at 100 percent with no deductible.
  • Vision exam: $25 copay for a routine vision exam from a VSP network provider. If you use an out-of-network provider, submit a claim to VSP to be reimbursed for part of the expense.
  • Well-Being Retreat: Participants pay travel and hotel costs.
  • CREDO conference: $500 participation fee (if eligible and invited).
