Regional Benefits Consultations

Synod executives, presbytery executives, stated clerks, COM and CPM moderators or committee members, and pension liaisons are invited to attend the Regional Benefits Consultation in your area. At these events, the Board of Pensions staff presents Benefit Plan updates and changes, as well as listens to the issues and concerns of the participants.

The consultations provide an excellent opportunity to meet with members of your regional service team, and to exchange information and ideas with the Board and others in your region.

It is our goal to provide the proper tools with which members can fulfill a continuing personal stewardship to financial and physical well-being in the context of the Reformed theological tradition. more

Verification Letters

For many administrative changes and transactions, the Board requires written verification from employing organizations or MGB representatives. In these instances, signed and completed forms must be accompanied by letters supporting the requested action. Such letters include:

• Verification of post-retirement service
• Verification of inquirer/candidate status for new seminary student
• Verification of seminary student status (annually)
• Verification of specialized ministry status
• Verification that a member is seeking church-related service for Transitional Participation Basis
• Verification of post-graduate studies
• Verification of a member under discipline
• Verification of employer-mandated coverage for a specialized minister wishing to waive a benefit
• Verification of the transfer of a pastor from another denomination
• Recommendation of a waiver of vacancy dues
• Recommendation of a waiver of post-retirement service dues
• Request for assistance funds
