If you are terminally ill (with a life expectancy of 24 months or less), you may elect to receive a portion of your Salary Continuation Benefit before your death. You may request up to the present value of the $8,000 minimum Salary Continuation Benefit. This benefit will be paid as a lump sum. The remaining balance will be paid to your designated beneficiaries after your death.

If you believe that you are eligible to receive a Living Needs Benefit, you should request a Living Needs Benefit Packet in writing from the Disability Team at the Board of Pensions.
