Assistance Program

The Assistance Program provides an important safety net when financial needs exceed personal and other available resources. Consisting of a variety of discretionary grant programs, it also supports congregational pastors’ personal development needs. more

Benefits Plan

The Benefits Plan of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is designed to care for and provide benefit protection for the community of Benefits Plan members as a whole. The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), as the Plan administrator, is the corporate embodiment of the church’s sense of community in caring for church workers.

Medical Benefits

The Medical Plan provides comprehensive medical benefits for members of the Traditional Program and the Affiliated Benefits Program. It includes coverage for both physical and mental health needs, and offers discount programs for vision and hearing. more

Prescription Drugs

The Medical Plan includes prescription drug coverage for maintenance medications, short-term medications, and specialty medications. Pre-authorization is required for some prescription drugs. more

Health Management

Health management includes pre-certification, informed care management, personal health records, case management, and a 24-hour nurse line.  more

Well-Being

The Medical Plan offers a multitude of special programs that help maintain and improve your physical and mental well-being. These services include help with tobacco cessation, weight loss, and stress management. more

Optional Dental Program

The dental program is an optional program to which Benefits Plan members can subscribe. A DMO, PPO, or Passive PPO are available depending on your location. more

Death and Disability Plan

The Death and Disability Plan provides partial income replacement and benefit continuation to members and their eligible dependents. If you are an Affiliated Benefits Program member, you may qualify for this benefit only if your employing organization subscribes for this coverage.

    Death Benefits

    Death benefits are designed to help ease the financial burden on your survivors and designated beneficiaries at the time of your death. It is available to qualified active, disabled, and retired members of the Benefits Plan. A supplemental death benefits program is also available. more

    Disability Benefits

    Disability benefits provide you with a monthly disability income and continued benefits if you meet specific requirements. more

Long-Term Care Insurance

This optional program provides coverage in the event of a health-related issue following an illness or injury that requires long-term care. The program is available to active or retired members of the Benefits Plan and their eligible relatives. more

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free, confidential resource that helps you and members of your household find answers to a variety of personal concerns, including counseling, child care, elder care, pet care, specialty health providers, finances, and legal issues. more

Pension Plan

The Pension Plan is a defined benefit plan that provides lifetime benefits to you and your eligible survivors (if eligible) during retirement. It provides you with monthly pension payments throughout your retirement and your eligible survivor with monthly survivor’s pension payments after your death. more

Retirement Savings Plan

The optional Retirement Savings Plan, a 403(b)(9) plan, offers a convenient, tax-deferred way to save for retirement. It offers a range of investment choices, including socially responsible investment options. more
