Mid Council Leaders Gathering

The Mid Council Leaders Gathering is one of the ways in which the Board of Pensions engages the Church. The Board co-sponsors this gathering with the Office of the General Assembly and Presbyterian Mission Agency for administrative, ecclesiastical, programmatic, and financial leaders of mid councils.

2020 Mid Council Leaders Gathering

In response to physical distancing guidelines, the 2020 Mid Council Leaders Gathering will be a one-day virtual event. Co-sponsored by the Board of Pensions, Office of the General Assembly, and Presbyterian Mission Agency, the 2020 gathering will be held Thursday, November 5, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET. The theme of this year's event is Wholeness in Times of Crises.

This re-imagined event has been designed specifically for administrative, ecclesiastical, programmatic, and financial leaders of mid councils, such as

  • executive and general presbyters;
  • stated clerks, COM/CPM leaders; and
  • business and financial leaders.

Program highlights

Those who attend will

Herbert Nelson II, Stated Clerk, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.); and the Reverend Frank C. Spencer, President, Board of Pensions — on leading in times of crises and concerns and needs in these challenging times;
  • connect with well-being researcher the Reverend Chris Adams, Ph.D., from WorkWell on how to flourish and build resilience and use WorkWell's well-being app to discover, engage in, and track daily practices for well-being based on Flourishing in Ministry research; and
  • hear from the co-moderators of the General Assembly, the Reverend Gregory Bentley and Ruling Elder Elona Street-Stewart, on critical issues for the well-being of all communities within the denomination.
