Beginning July 1, 2019, qualifying retirees, spouses, and surviving spouses can apply for grants to help pay for dental services and/or hearing aids.
Have you been putting off dental work or hearing aids because of the cost? A new grant from the Assistance Program could make a difference: Beginning July 1, 2019, qualifying retirees, spouses, and surviving spouses can apply for Retiree Medical Grants to help address these expenses.
Eligible individuals can receive a grant of up to $2,500, once every three years, for dental services and/or hearing aids ― services and supplies not covered by Medicare or the Medicare Supplement Plan.
If you qualify for this need-based grant and you incur a dental or hearing aid expense on or after July 1, complete a Retiree Medical Grant Application and submit it with the required documentation to the Board.
You may request the Board predetermine whether you qualify for a Retiree Medical Grant by calling the Board of Pensions at 800-773-7752 (800-PRESPLAN).
