Making tax season more manageable

Check out these ways to make tax season less stressful.

For some people, the approach of tax season causes anxiety because it centers around one of the top stressors for American adults: money. This month, participants in the Retirement Savings Plan of the Presbyterian Church (US.A.) will receive some helpful information from Fidelity Investments, the plan administrator, about how to make this tax season less stressful.

If you participate in the Retirement Savings Plan, check your inbox for an email from Fidelity with

  • tips to make tax preparation easier and maximize refunds;
  • information about tax-advantaged savings opportunities and the benefits of each; and
  • suggestions for those who may have had a large tax bill in the past and are looking for ways to help avoid a repeat.

Whether or not you participate in the Retirement Savings Plan, and regardless of your age or level of income, there are many resources from Fidelity that can help make tax season less painful:

If your employer offers the Retirement Savings Plan and you’re not contributing, ask how to get started.

If your employer doesn’t offer the Retirement Savings Plan, ask them to contact the Board of Pensions for more information. All employees who work for a PC(USA)-affiliated employer are eligible to participate in the Retirement Savings Plan if their employer offers the plan to them.
