Employee Assistance Program offers support for life’s challenges

February 08, 2019

Sometimes we all need a helping hand, whether it’s with everyday issues, such as finding child care or handling a problem at work, or larger concerns, such as identity theft or depression.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided by Cigna Behavioral Health, can help with many of life’s challenges, both big and small.

The EAP offers the following — at no cost — to employees with medical coverage through the Board of Pensions* and anyone living in their household:

  • online resources on topics ranging from parenting and relationships to time management and more
  • unlimited phone consultations with licensed clinicians for help with issues such as a family member’s substance use, marital problems, concerns about an elderly parent or child, and conflicts with a coworker
  • up to six in-person or online counseling sessions per issue, when needed (must be authorized by an EAP advocate)

The EAP is available 24/7 and completely confidential. To access it, call 866-640-2772 or log on to the website.

*The EAP is not available to employees enrolled in Triple-S, GeoBlue, or retired members enrolled in the Medicare Supplement Plan.
