Do you need help with life’s challenges?

February 06, 2020

When you need a helping hand, whether it’s with everyday issues, like finding a dog sitter, or more urgent concerns, such as a family member’s substance use, the Employee Assistance Program can help.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided by Cigna Behavioral Health, is available to members with medical coverage through the Board of Pensions*, eligible family members, and anyone living in your household. It can help with a variety of needs:

  • counseling sessions
  • child or elder care
  • parenting and prenatal care
  • pet care
  • legal and tax assistance
  • identity theft assistance
  • financial consultations

Through the EAP, you’ll have access to the following at no cost:

  • unlimited phone consultations with licensed clinicians for help with issues such as marital problems, a family member or friend’s substance use, concerns about an elderly parent or child, and conflicts with a coworker
  • up to six in-person or online counseling sessions per issue, when needed (must be authorized by an EAP advocate)
  • online resources on topics ranging from parenting and relationships to time management and more

The EAP is available 24/7 and completely confidential. To access it, call 866-640-2772 or log on to the website (one-time registration is required; use pcusa for Employee’s Employer ID).

*The EAP is not available to employees enrolled in Triple-S, GeoBlue, or retired members enrolled in the Medicare Supplement Plan.
