Beat the winter blues with Call to Health

Don’t wait until warmer weather arrives. Try these Call to Health challenges to combat the blues this winter.

It’s dark and dreary, and you just want to stay in bed. It could be a case of the winter blues. According to WebMD, as many as one in four Americans experience symptoms such as sluggishness, food cravings, and irritability, usually starting in October and ending in the spring.

Don’t wait until warmer weather arrives. Try these Call to Health challenges to combat the blues this winter:

  • Overhaul Your Pantry (30 points): Eating healthy will help boost your mood and give you more energy, plus a neat, organized space can be surprisingly helpful when you’re feeling down.
  • Weekly Exercise Challenge (10 points per week): Whether indoors or out, physical exercise releases mood-enhancing endorphins. And, it will help you avoid adding extra pounds over the winter months.
