Employees may elect benefits for 2019 from
October 29 through November 16, 2018. Annual enrollment is your only chance to elect benefits and/or make changes to your coverage that becomes effective January 1, 2019, unless you have a qualifying life event during the year.
What to do during annual enrollment
Log on to Benefits Connect and choose from the benefits options your employer has selected for you to make sure you have the coverage you want for 2019. Your employer may offer new options for 2019, so be sure to log on and review your coverage, even if you will be enrolled in Pastor's Participation or your employer currently pays 100 percent of the cost of coverage.
During this annual enrollment period, you may
- change elections or coverage levels for benefits, such as medical and/or dental;
- elect new vision eyewear coverage, if offered by your employer;
- apply for or change supplemental death coverage, if offered by your employer;
- add or remove eligible family members from coverage; and
- review and update beneficiaries.
You may also be eligible to enroll in new flexible spending accounts (FSAs) or a health savings account (HSA) during annual enrollment if offered by your employer. However, enrollment for these accounts is not available through Benefits Connect. If you are eligible for an FSA or HSA for 2019, your employer will give you an enrollment form.
Now is also a good time to review all of the benefits your employer makes available to you, including any that do not require an annual election through Benefits Connect, such as the Pension Plan, Retirement Savings Plan of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) (RSP), and the Death and Disability Plan. For example, now is a good time to review your RSP contributions and investments to make sure you are on target for financial security in retirement.
