Seminarians

As a seminary student, you may be eligible to purchase Medical Plan coverage. Visit the Attending Seminary page in the Life Events section of pensions.org for more information about Medical Plan eligibility and enrollment.

For more information on Medical Plan coverage for seminary students, including medical dues, read Benefits Overview: Medical Coverage for Seminary Students.

Also, seminary students who graduate and enter the Benefits Plan as teaching elders are credited with three years of service for pension purposes. Pension credits vest at three years of service.

The Minister Educational Debt Assistance Program helps newly ordained teaching elders serving small congregations repay educational debt. For more information about this program, see the Ministers with Vocational Leadership Needs page in the Assistance Program section of pensions.org.
